The goal of this project was to create a virtual garment prototype in Browzwear's VStitcher that could eventually be compared to a sewn sample, fitted specifically to myself. This process consisted of creating an avatar based off of my measurements and body shape, drafting garment patterns, observing fit issues seen on my 3D prototypes, and making the appropriate changes to my garment patterns. For this project, I tested the specific fabrics I planned to use for constructing the garment and brought their physical properties into VStitcher to ensure my 3D prototype was displaying the proper physical attributes. After achieving the desired 3D prototype, I then printed my garment patterns in full-scale and sewed a real-life prototype. Upon the completion of both my 3D and sewn prototypes, I was able to observe the accuracy and effectiveness of a 3D apparel development process.
